Update May 17, 2020: Hope everyone has been able to enjoy some perspective from the bike during this period of adjustment. Since the shelter in place order, time has seemed to move in a somewhat unfamiliar pace, but things finally seem to be shifting back to a more familiar way of life. Humboldt County is still ordered to shelter in place with officials working on re-opening parts of the county. Unfortunately like in many other counties it is not until the final phase of re-opening that special events can take place, when the shelter in place order is lifted, and one can only speculate when that may occur. Currently working with Green Diamond Resource Company and the City of Blue Lake to have a determination for you all by June 15. Until then, it does not feel right to open registration until we know for sure our county will allow for such an event. With the majority of events being cancelled into the summer, it would be great to have something lined up and by the looks of it, this fall will be a non-stop bike race party with many events being rescheduled so we still plan to help kick it all off September 11-12. The original date announcement included the 13th of September, but the schedule has been shifted to still offer two days of racing and keep the overall schedule mostly the same as the previous two years for the sake of our volunteers. Check out the schedule and course map for more details. In the mean time, hope everyone continues to enjoy the spring riding. Looking forward to seeing everyone soon enough.

Mad River Enduro: September 11-12, 2020

Presented by RCMBA with a very special thanks to Green Diamond Resource Company

The third annual Mad River Enduro is taking place in the coastal redwoods in Blue Lake, CA. These trails are built by the Redwood Coast Mountain Bike Association (RCMBA) on private timber land owned and managed by Green Diamond Resource Company (GDRC). RCMBA has been a mainstay in the Humboldt region dedicated to building legal trails in the area. This partnership with GDRC is a unique opportunity for the club to build trails exclusively for mountain bikes. These trails are not open to the general public and you must be a member of RCMBA to ride these trails as part of the land use agreement with GDRC. This event will give you the chance to shuttle and ride all the trails built to date and experience a unique event tucked away in the redwoods of Humboldt County. Expect 7 stages of steep, raw, hand built single track twisting through Redwoods above the Mad River over 2 days.

The event is a full face helmet affair and will be required for the event. The event begins on Friday September 11 with open practice, shuttles will be provided. Racing will take place on Friday after practice and all day Saturday September 12. See schedule for more details.
